Nestled in the Magaliesberg Mountains, 1 hour from Johannesburg and Pretoria, 4 km from the Hartbeespoort Dam. Malaria-free area. The Sanctuary lies in natural indigenous bush and is home to local species such as impala, klipspringer, baboons, porcupine, caracal, leopard, and a host of other small mammals and 350 bird species. Your overnight experience starts at 16h00 - 10h00 the following morning. Enjoy intimate overnight stay in a ten-bedded Indo-African lodge. Your room shares a common wall with one of our elephant's stables - you will be amazed how quiet they actually are!
Arrive and enjoy welcome drinks and chill out whilst observing the elephants from the main deck or choose to have a swim in the lodge pool. Watch the elephants being stabled for the night and then return to the mountain deck for sundowners. Enjoy a 4-course dinner at the lodge in the boma and relax around the log fire. In the morning you will experience the morning brushdowns with the elephants, which includes walking and feeding them as well as learning interesting information.
Your accommodation is in the Thandi Honeymoon Suite, which has a queen bed with an exquisite open-plan bathroom complete with ball-and-claw bath, shower, basin and toilet. Mini bar and tea/coffee station. Very romantic.
Accommodation, dinner & breakfast, elephant experience and welcome drinks are included. Other beverages, elephant-back riding, personal incidentals and gratuities are not included.

A short educational ride that lets you experience elephants from a different perspective – a privilege historically reserved for kings! Elephant back rides may be added on to any of the day programs or the elephant overnight experiences. Riding to be booked when paying for the program.

What to wear: jeans are best for riding.
